Norton security suite version 20.2.0.19 on windows 8

Hi ,Recently I installed Norton security suite version 20.2.0.19 as part of my windows 8 pro upgrade.I have a valid comcast subscription.After Norton installation I see couple of messages in the windows action center window

1. Says my spyware and unwanted software protection are turned off(Both Norton security suite and windows defender)

2.My windows firewall is off.If I try to turn it on by cllicking the button next to that ,it doesnt do anything

Does Norton security suite turn off windows firewall automatically? Also Is Norton suite is protecting my PC agaainst spyware and malware? If I click on the Norton Icon in the teask bar , I see green tick marks against  Security,Identity,Backup and tuneups icons
