Accessing local printer on winxp (w/N360) from win7-64 (no N360)

I have 2 desktops on my WORKGROUP LAN:

- OLDBOX, a Windows XP SP3 running Norton 360 v6.4.1.14

(OLDADMIN is admin enabled, Guest account is enabled)

- NEWBOX, a Windows 7 SP1 Ultimate 64-bit running MS Security Essentials and Windows Firewall

(NEWADMIN is admin and UAC enabled)

- I do not have the same logins on both machines (admin or otherwise), nor do I want to have to make them the same

- the NSM in 360 shows the 2 machines as the only nodes (which is right), and Purging still shows the same

I am trying to figure out how to see and access the local Dell printer hanging off the OLDBOX (winxp) from the NEWBOX (win7).

Both of the following attempts from NEWBOX to see the OLDBOX machine or its 'Dell' local printer say 'Login failure: unknown user name or bad password':

1. Explorer->Network shows my main machine (win7-64), then after a 20-30 second scan the second (winXP) machine is also listed, but I cannot Open it with 'Enter Network Password - Enter your password to connect to: OLDBOX'. It defaults to the NEWBOX domain, but I tried OLDBOX\OLDADMIN and other combinations.

2. Add a local printer by 'Create a new port->Local Port' failed when given \\OLDBOX\Dell, which is the shared name of the printer over on OLDBOX.

Rather than splat out a bunch of N360, XP or Win7 settings, let me know whatever you need to know and I will list them (I am very familiar with XP and Win7, but no so much inside N360).
