My hard drive often runs constantly for several hours at a time, causing everything else to run very slowly. This will start and stop for now apparent reason (was running most of the day today, then just stopped within the last hour)
Looking at Task Manager, the two processes with very high I/O read/write/other counts are:
-ccsvchst.exe (part of Norton I think, with mostly I/O Reads and Other; relatively few I/O Writes)
-lsass.exe (part of Windows? Has a mix of Reads/Writes/Other)
I'm running Norton 360 (v20.4.0.40) on Windows XP, SP3
Any thoughts on why this is happening and how to stop/prevent it?
