Backup problem - NSS stopped recognizing thumb drive

For 2 wks I have had the same error with NSS and my automatic backup. Error reads "Backup problem-make sure destination drive is connected and try again"    Red X covers Norton icon.

 

I have removed and reinserted the thumb drive and have refreshed on the backup set menu.  My computer does show the lexar drive with the same files.   According to the ARestore.exe  file properties, it was modified 8/12/13.  NSS stopped backing up 9/5/13.   I have winXP,sp3.  NSS is version 5.2.2.3

 

Can someone help me with this? Thank you
