Hi I'm running Windows 7 on my PC.
I have a question about installing AV's a it pertains to possible 'net vulnerability issues.
I'm getting ready to purchase and install Norton 360. I'm currently running another AV on my PC. Here's what I plan to do, to prevent a possible 'net intrusion/attack while I'm not protected with an AV product (the time between uninstalling my existing AV and installing Norton 360)
- Disconnect my 'net connection (from the Network Center "Change Adapter Settings" option).
- Uninstall existing AV
- Install Norton 360 - Restart PC (I assume that this is necessary after installing Norton 360 to enable it, etc)
- Re-enable my 'net connection from the Network Center (enable my Adapter Settings).
- I'm assuming that this will not cause a 'net re-connection issue, restarting my PC while the 'net connection is disabled. I've not tried that previously.
Do you all think that these steps are necessary or is the risk of a 'net "hit" so small that it's not necessary to disable the 'net connection during the AV install process?
