I have used Norton 360 on our three machines for the past years, and have been very satisfied. But what happened today, has greatly shaken my trust in Symantec. I received a monthly newsletter promising to inform me about social media scams, spamming, pesky advertisements etc. But any link, I clicked on, led me to a "pesky" Norton advertisement. I find it very hypocritical to pretend protecting the user when, in fact, you do exactly what you claim to guard against. The next step then is to float malware, so you can come back as a knight in shining armour to save the naive consumer.
I am using this forum to bring the issue to public attention.
Symantec's core asset is trust! Once you fritter it away, the brand is toast.
