Windows 8 & Norton 360

I upgraded my windows 7 laptop to windows 8 and then upgraded Norton to Norton 360, ever since then when I shut down the computer and then back on the Norton product doesn't work. It is still listed in my files but the Norton remove and reinstall says it is not there. When I double click on the icon nothing happens and then a little later it tries to initialize and then gives an error message. Can any one help.
