For some time I have been having odd messages at shut down of my laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit installation. They do not occur on every shut down and I cannot detect a pattern of when they do occur. They seem to be related to ccsvchst.exe which is I believe part of the Norton 360 installation. I cannot get to the bottom of it or find any similar issues raised here. Can anyone provide any help/suggestions. Thanks in advance for your time. :-)
This is the sort of message I get:-
Now as you can see ccsvchst.exe appears to be trying to overwrite itself which looks very odd. Each time I get such a message the addresses seem to change but always match within the message.
Clicking OK clears the message and leads to what otherwise seems to be an orderly shut down.
I have checked that my installation of Norton 360 appears to be fully up to date. I have removed and reinstalled it using the removal and reinstallation tool and I have run the Autofix found under Help/Support. On two occasions autofix claims to have found and fixed something but I cannot work out what that was. However there have been times when the message above has appeared and at the next reboot the autofix found nothing.
I have checked to see where ccsvchst.exe might be on my system and got the following result.
Which puzzles me as there appear to be two ccsvchst.exe files of different ages and with different capitalisation in the same Norton folder. I also not apparent issues with it in earlier years - I had not previously been aware of those.
So now I hope you are aware of what the issue is and have all the information that I can think might help. Any ideas?
